Join us for Faculty Lightning Lounge on March 25
March 3, 2026
The next UNM Faculty Lightning Lounge is March 25 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in Zimmerman Library’s Willard Room.
You are invited to hear colleagues give short talks about their research, creative works, teaching or outreach. Time is available for questions during and after the event, and you’ll be able to meet new people, network and learn.
Presenters will be Mary Rice, an associate professor of Literacy, whose talk is The Super Position of Quantum Education in New Mexico; Andre Montoya-Barthelemy, an assistant professor of Internal Medicine, whose talk is The Sick Planet: Political Economy and the Ecologyof Health; Holly Surbaugh, an assistant professor of Learning, Research and Engagement, whose talk is How Have Academic Libraries Adapted to a Volatile Social Media Landscape?; and Matthew Murrell, an assistant professor of law, whose talk is Our Cyborg Bodies.
If you missed last month’s Zoom Lightning Lounge with branch campus faculty, catch the replay.
Lightning Lounge is hosted by ADVANCE at UNM, the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of the Vice President for Research. If you are interested in presenting your research, creative works, teaching, or outreach at a fall semester lounge or want to recommend someone, email Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Christopher Lyons (clyons@unm.edu) or advance@unm.edu.
