Provost groupThe University of New Mexico Office of Academic Affairs (commonly called the Office of the Provost) oversees everything having to do with the academic mission of the Albuquerque campus, as well as our four branch campuses in Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos and Valencia.

The provost’s office leads and provides strategy for all Academic Affairs units on academics, student success, advising, teaching, research, faculty affairs, budgeting and finance for the academic units, community engagement, international programs, institutional analytics, and the assessment of our academic programs.

The Office of Academic Affairs is led by the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. As chief academic officer of the University, the provost guides and leads the deans of of the schools and colleges and the chancellors of the branch campuses, as well as the vice presidents for research, student affairs, enrollment management, and equity and inclusion.
