Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR)

The UNM Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is committed to the advancement, facilitation, and celebration of cutting-edge discovery and innovation. Faculty Research Development Office (FRDO)

The UNM Faculty Research Development Office (FRDO) works in collaboration with departments across the University to strengthen the impact of UNM’s research portfolio by facilitating proposal development and bolstering faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity to increase the diversity, quality, volume, and success rates of external funding proposals. FRDO provides direct facilitation and strategic planning support for researchers/teams and by sharing broader grantsmanship training and resources with the UNM community.

Office of the Institutional Review Board (OIRB)

The UNM OIRB serves UNM Main and Branch Campus student, staff, and faculty researchers. IRB staff work to meet the Human Research Protections Program’s vision by providing support, guidance, and education to researchers and the community in order to facilitate ethical and scientifically sound research. Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP)

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) supports the University’s research mission by providing administration, management, and oversight of extramural sponsored research. OSP provides support and assistance with proposal submission and management of successfully awarded projects. OSP staff work closely with faculty, department administrators and support staff across the main and branch campuses to ensure project success and compliance throughout the sponsored projects lifecycle.

Contract and Grant Accounting (CGA)

UNM Contract and Grant Accounting provides the research community with professional expertise and quality customer service in the management of external funding. Staff strive to provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with UNM policy, state law, federal regulations and agency terms and conditions of funding.
