Success Infrastructure
Student Hub
Undergraduate students at UNM will soon have a new tool to help them more efficiently communicate with the advisement community and keep them on track with their student success journey. Student Hub — a collaboration between the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Advising Strategies, UNM Division of Enrollment Management, UNM Information Technologies and all UNM campuses — is set to debut in the next year.
Student Hub will be based on Salesforce Education Cloud, a constituent relationship management (CRM) platform for educational institutions. The CRM is in the process of being extensively tailored to meet UNM’s needs. Features will include improved scheduling and advisement communications in addition to progress dashboards, streamlined recruitment and admissions processes, and ultimately AI chatbot functions.
From application through graduation and beyond, Student Hub will make it possible for both students and advisors to track progress and goals. The initial rollout will focus on simplified advisement scheduling, but the goal in the next few years is a unified platform for all student services.
Stay tuned for more as Student Hub is rolled out in 2025!
Advisement Strategies
The mission of advisement at the University of New Mexico is to provide an inclusive and supportive environment where advisors assist students make robust and informed decisions about educational plans that are consistent with their life goals. Advising is a dynamic partnership between students and advisors with each fully participating in the advising experience.
The purpose of the Office of Advising Strategies (OAS) is to educate, lead, and advocate for advisement. We provide advisors with training, professional development, and resources needed to best serve students. OAS is also the administrative center for dual credit and concurrent enrollment, and the Provost's Committee for Advising (PCA). We regularly issue reports and assessments of the advising experience on behalf of all advising units.

Equitable Education Access (OER)
UNM’s Open Educational Resource (OER) initiative seeks to provide faculty members with the support they need to adopt low and no-cost textbook and class material solutions for their courses when it aligns with their instructional objectives and academic freedom. We are planning partnerships with other higher education institutions and the State of New Mexico to identify resources and support for faculty initiatives in this area.
