Educational Innovation
Teaching Innovation
UNM is committed to creating an equitable environment for learning—one that provides all students with the opportunity to succeed with right effort and the right support. Staff contribute to this effort by offering, among many supports, students wellness services, tutoring, advisement, on- and off-campus opportunities, outcomes data, evaluation and research, infrastructure, and just-in-time support. Instructors at UNM can help build this environment by honing their teaching craft across at least three of the seven areas below:
- Course Design Technology Use
- Belonging, Growth Mindset
- High Engagement Learning
- Inclusion
- Formative Feedback
- Mentorship
- Discipline Based Education Research and Techniques
Disciplinary expertise and potential are conditions for instructor hire at UNM. A demonstrated effort to make learning possible and accessible for all students provides evidence of teaching quality. Instructors can demonstrate that effort through engagement, innovation, and application of evidence-based techniques to their work with students.
Student Experience Project
