Faculty Lightning Lounge coming on Feb. 18

Most are aware that there is research and scholarship from every corner of the UNM campus in Albuquerque, but did you know that research also extends to our branch campuses across the state?
Join us for Faculty Lightning Lounge on Feb. 18 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. to learn more about the impactful research taking place at Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos and Valencia — from landscapes to health sciences. This month's presentation will be virtual (see Zoom information at the end).
This month's event will feature the following faculty:
- Christopher Dyer, professor of anthropology, UNM Gallup. Topic: "Community Action Response Team Training as a Mitigation Tool Against Global Disaster Compression."
- Tammi Duncan-Teller, assistant professor of biology, UNM Valencia. Topic: "Integrating Research Into Microbiology Lab."
- Virginia Grant, assistant professor of English, UNM Los Alamos. Talk: "Landscapes, Trees and Senses of Place in 20th Century American Poetry."
- Josh Wright, faculty and chair of health science, UNM Taos. Talk: "Worth a Thousand Words."
Lightning Lounge, which is hosted collaboratively by Advance at UNM, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Office of the Vice President for Research, is offered several times each semester. Faculty are invited to give short talks on their research and scholarship, with time available at the end for questions.
All members of the UNM community are invited to attend. No RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be served.
