New Graduate Assistantship Orientation set for Aug. 12

The Office of Academic Affairs is hosting the fall New Graduate Assistantship Orientation on Aug. 12 to help those new to the role get started with what they need to succeed.

The all-day event will be held in the Centennial Engineering Center’s Larrañaga Engineering Auditorium begins with check-in at 8 a.m., with orientation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided.

The orientation is open to new graduate assistants, project assistants, research assistants and teaching assistants on the Albuquerque campus

  • Supports for effective teaching
  • Student conduct, due process and CARE
  • College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences services
  • Graduate assistant contracts, processes and responsibilities
  • Policies, norms and processes to prevent discrimination at UNM
  • Graduate student academic support services
  • Campus and community safety, and safety resources on campus
  • Parking and Transportation Services (PATS)
  • Graduate assistant employee benefits and insurance
  • Accessibility services for students
