Provost Committee for Staff accepting nominations until March 31

The Provost Committee for Staff is accepting nominations through March 31 for the Outstanding Staff Awards.
Each spring semester of the academic year, the provost and vice president for academic affairs presents an annual award to outstanding individual staff members of UNM who have provided extraordinary service.
Eligibility
Regular and current non-faculty staff who have provided extraordinary service to the provost’s units. Previously nominated staff may be nominated again, provided the nominee is not a past recipient of the award. Individual nominees are not eligible to receive more than one award per cycle. Beginning in fall 2023, past recipients of the award may be eligible again five years from the time they received the award. Current Provost Committee for Staff members are not eligible for the award.
Nominations
Staff, faculty and students in the provost’s units may nominate any permanent, non-faculty staff member. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Collaborative nominations for a single person are highly encouraged.
Selection Criteria
Nominees should demonstrate extraordinary achievement in one or more of the following areas:
- Provide extraordinary service to UNM or the community
- Demonstrate service to others through exceptional kindness and compassion
- Exemplify University values (Excellence; Access with Support to Succeed; Integrity; Diversity, Respectful Relationships; Freedom; and Sustainability)
- Contribute substantially to significant team or department accomplishments
Screening Process
Members of the Provost Committee for Staff will screen all nominees. The list of individuals will be forwarded to the provost and vice president for academic affairs for approval.
Award
A plaque and monetary award will be presented to the individual staff selected. The Provost Committee for Staff and the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs will present the awards during the annual presentation ceremony.
