Lightning Lounge planned for March 26

The next UNM Faculty Lightning Lounge will be held on March 26. It will be held 4-5 p.m. at Ortega 335.

The presenters will be:

  • Johannes Barfield, an assistant professor in the Honors College who will talk about “Sonic Painting”
  • kaitlin bryson, a Lecturer III in art and art history who will present “Multispecies Thriving”
  • Jessica Goodkind, a professor and associate chair in sociology who will present “Community-Engaged Mental Health Research with Refugees, Immigrants and Other Newcomers;” and Seth Newsome a professor in biology and associate director at Center for Stable Isotopes whose talk is called “The Gut Microbiome’s Role in Host Protein Metabolism.”

Lightning Lounge’s mission is to present research, teaching or outreach in a fun, fast-paced format (seven minutes each), with time for Q&A and networking. The event happens three times a semester.
