Academic Affairs Fiscal Shared Service Center
The Academic Affairs Fiscal Shared Service Center (FSSC) is a team of financial experts dedicated to providing comprehensive fiscal services to academic and administrative units. Centralized under the Assistant Vice President for Academic Resource Management within the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the FSSC supports the University of New Mexico’s mission by delivering efficient, high-quality financial services.
Our Mission
The mission of the Fiscal Shared Service Center is to provide high-quality fiscal services while upholding the university's policies and procedures. By understanding each unit’s operations and goals, we deliver tailored support that enhances efficiency, accountability, and financial health across campus.

How Shared Services Works
Participation in the Fiscal Shared Service Center is optional and facilitated through annual service agreements. Each unit can customize its agreement, ranging from specific transactional support to complete fiscal oversight. These agreements ensure accountability, transparency, and high-quality service.

Each unit is assigned a dedicated fiscal advisor as a primary point of contact. Our team includes professional accountants, fiscal analysts, fiscal technicians, and student interns, all bringing diverse experience from both academic and non-academic sectors. We also prioritize student mentorship by offering hands-on experience to UNM undergraduate and graduate interns.

Our team is composed of professionals with extensive experience in finance and accounting. We draw on a wealth of knowledge gained from working with academic and non-academic units at UNM, as well as backgrounds in private and public accounting sectors. This diverse expertise allows us to provide customized fiscal solutions that address the specific needs of each unit.
